Happy Birthday, Cassie!

If you don’t read the following FIRST, you may scroll down and immediately ask yourself, “What on earth?!” So before you get in a big, fat hurry, I urge you to read this explanation first…

When I was about three or four years old and my sister was about six or seven, we had a picnic in our backyard. I don’t know why we decided to eat lunch outside that day, but Mom made us the best kind of sandwiches—the kind that’s been cut into perfect triangles and stacked one on top of the other. The best! And at some point in the middle of our incredible feasting, I picked up one of those perfect triangles and threw it across the lawn, exclaiming…

Even today, the memory is a bit hazy. But it’s one of the few memories I have when I made my sister laugh til she cried. Usually, it was always the other way around. My sister is—BY FAR AND AWAY!—the funniest person I’ve ever met in my life. And I’m convinced her humor is rooted in her uncharted I.Q. because anyone that funny must be a genius, too.

So here’s to my older sis whose intelligence baffles me and who makes me laugh until I cry, turn red and beg for breath! To the sister I never want to go against in an argument because we both know who’ll win! And for a sister I admire and trust and love dearly…

Happy birthday, Cass. 🙂
