Caitlin+Dan | Teaser | Going to SoCal

Seattle, WA. Captured by the great Kip Beelman, who played “second shooter” yesterday. Thank you, Kip, for your amazing eye and fantastic sense of humor!

A little more writing for you today so you’re in for a treat.

Since May hit, it’s been ominous. However you interpret the word “ominous”, I’m sure it’s an accurate depiction of what our life is like right now. And truth be told, I feel like photographers talk a lot about how blessed they are to live the life they live and as cliché as it gets sometimes, it’s the absolute truth. There’s just something about photography and photographing people that completely rocks our world. If you’re following your passion in life and love everything about what you do, even the ugly stuff (like paying taxes), you know exactly what we’re talking about. In truth, it’s not all rose pedals and unicorns—we can have bad days—but when we really sit back and look at the friendships we develop with our clients and with other photographers, we recognize how crazy ass lucky we are to do what we do. And really, that’s what it comes down to… Relationships. They’re what make it for me and if they’re not doing it for you, I think you should seriously ask yourself what you’re doing it for… Any other reason won’t last, I promise you.

This will likely be my last blog post for about two weeks. Again, I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to play second shooter for Kristen Marie for this coming Saturday’s wedding in Pasadena, California. I’m leaving tomorrow morning as it’s been more than ten years since I’ve been to visit my family and childhood friends in Long Beach. I’m excited to be shooting in the California sun for a change, so I’ll be doing a bit of extra work while I’m there. I’ll return to Seattle next Monday afternoon so if you send me an email, the soonest you’ll hear from me will probably be Tuesday or Wednesday. If you’re interested in keeping up with what I’m doing, I like to post LCD teasers on my Facebook Page which can be more fun than the “real” teaser as they’re shared as the session is happening. Which is NEAT.

If you’re in the process of booking your wedding with me, I’ll do my best to respond to your emails within 24 hours, even while I’m traveling. All other session inquiries, I’ll respond to upon my return home. If you need to reach me now, you can email me at carly@carlybish.com. Email me today for a guaranteed response.

I have so much I’m excited to share with you. One love shoot, two engagements, and three weddings… Wowza! Like I said… Ominous.
